BOCA It’s good if it’s from Cambrils

BOCA is another step in consolidating Cambrils as a gastronomic benchmark, with a project that protects, values, and promotes the essence of Cambrils through a circular ecosystem that brings together local producers, chefs, and the public.

This project aims to celebrate the enjoyment of eating local products, expressing a landscape, human know-how, and a tradition that must be preserved.

The name “BOCA” comes from a wordplay in Catalan that captures the philosophy of the project.

BO (“good” in Catalan) refers to flavor, product quality, and the craft of cooking.
CA refers to Cambrils, its gastronomic culture, and its status as a Gastronomic Capital.

The BOCA quality seal represents a commitment to local identity, distinguishing establishments that strongly support local products such as fish from the fish market, local garden produce, olive oil, and regional raw ingredients.

This distinction operates through audits and a scoring system that establishes two categories:

  • BOCA Values: recognizes establishments that incorporate good practices, respect for the environment, and social commitment.
  • BOCA Excellence: a higher level for those leading establishments that, in addition to the basic values, stand out for innovation, service, and high-level culinary quality.
