There are no water use restrictions in Cambrils.
Cambrils promotes informational and awareness-raising actions for a more responsible use of water. It is a vital resource, the scarcity of which has been aggravated by the prolonged drought that Catalonia faces. We all must be aware of this fact and actively contribute to water saving.
According to the Catalan Water Agency – the public entity responsible for water planning and management in Catalonia, attached to the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat de Catalunya – currently, both in Cambrils and the rest of the Costa Daurada, THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS ON WATER USE. Nevertheless, the monitoring of the state of the reserves has been intensified and information and awareness actions aimed at promoting saving have been implemented.
By adopting responsible consumption practices, we not only ensure the well-being of our community and the natural environment that surrounds us but also contribute to a more sustainable future for the coming generations.
We invite all our visitors and residents to join this collective effort, adopting simple yet significant measures for water saving. Every action counts, and together we can make a big difference. In Cambrils, we firmly believe that sustainability and the enjoyment of our tourist attractions can go hand in hand, offering unforgettable experiences that respect and value our natural environment.
Among the small but significant actions that we can all apply, are:
- Preferring the use of the shower over the bathtub. It can mean a saving of up to 250 liters of water per use.
- Not leaving the water tap open longer than strictly necessary. Every minute of use accounts for about 7 liters of water.
- Not using the toilet as a trash can. Each flush consumes 10 liters of water.
- Changing towels only when necessary. On average, each wash consumes about 50 liters of water.
Your commitment to responsible water use will not only enrich your stay but also help preserve the beauty and vitality of our destination for all those who visit us in the future. Together, we can ensure that Cambrils continues to be a welcoming, responsible, and sustainable destination.
